James Verrico

As Senior Director of Legal Underwriting, James (Jamie) performs the legal due diligence in order to evaluate the company’s law firm clients, their business operations and case collateral.

Jamie joined Counsel Financial in 2012. He has 25 years of experience representing individuals and families in a variety of tort claims, including construction, railroad (FELA), product liability, motor vehicle, workers compensation, disability, premises liability and mass torts. Over the course of his career, Jamie has obtained multiple seven-figure verdicts and settlements.

Jamie attended the University of Michigan where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees, with distinction, in English and Communication. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law where he was a recipient of the Robert G. Connelly Award for Trial Technique. He is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in New York, Massachusetts, Illinois and in the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, he has been a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Association of Justice, Western New York Trial Lawyers and the Erie County Bar Association.

Jamie lives in Clarence, NY with his wife, two daughters and one son. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, he enjoys golf, swimming, music, wine and travel.
