Tom is the Director of Financial Auditing at Counsel Financial. He is responsible for performing financial due diligence on prospective and existing law firms and verifying financial stability in order to maintain and support their lines of credit.
Prior to joining Counsel Financial, Tom worked for ten years in General Electric’s Healthcare Financial Services division doing asset-based lending on hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies that had existing lines of credit with their Medicare and Medicaid receivables as collateral.
He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting, with a minor in Finance, from Fredonia State University. With extensive experience and education in white-collar crime, he worked towards and received his Fraud Examiners Certification (CFE) in 1993. Traveling for the majority of his career, Tom was able to earn his MBA from University of Phoenix.
Outside of Counsel Financial, Tom is co-chair for the Buffalo office of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and actively participates and promotes the mission to keep children safe. He grew up and continues to reside in Hamburg, NY with his wife Gail, also an accountant, and has two grown children—son Kevin, PharmD who works at South Bay Hospital outside of Tampa, FL, and daughter Courtney, who earned a BS in Health Services and works at a local medical office. Pretty much “empty nesters,” Tom and his wife share their house with their dog and two birds, and enjoy traveling and the outdoors.
