James Cox

James (Jim) is the Senior Director of Financial Auditing at Counsel Financial. He consults with applicants and clients regarding their management and accounting controls. Jim performs due-diligence and financial analysis as part of the underwriting and relationship management processes.

Jim is a graduate of LeMoyne College, in Syracuse, NY, with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. He also earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Prior to joining Counsel Financial in 2007, Jim spent 21 years in the commercial lending and investment industries at Freed Maxick, M&T Bank and Bank of America. In addition, he has published articles in The Secured Lender magazine, an asset-based lending trade publication.

Jim resides in Lockport, NY with his wife. Jim loves to watch football—he is a hopelessly diehard New York Giants fan.
