R. Glenn Phillips is a co-founder of Sanders Phillips Grossman, LLC, a joint venture that connected one of the top mass tort firms on the east coast with one of the top mass tort firms on the west coast. Mr. Phillips and Marc Grossman joined the forces of the Phillips Law Firm and Sanders Viener Grossman (a/k/a The Sanders Law Firm) to create a national powerhouse against America’s greediest pharmaceutical companies in order to protect individuals injured by defective drugs and medical devices.
During Mr. Phillips’ first 15 years of practice he represented insurance companies, defending negligent drivers, product manufacturers, physicians and contractors responsible for construction accidents. Thereafter, Mr. Phillips formed his own law firm, the Phillips Law Firm, joining the plaintiffs’ bar with a thorough understanding of both sides of personal injury law. The Phillips Law Firm handles cases involving serious personal injury, product liability, workman's compensation, social security disability, medical malpractice, defective drug/device and employee rights.
Mr. Phillips has tried more than 100 civil jury trials and has helped the Phillips Law Firm obtain settlements against drug and device manufacturers in excess of $300 million. He has been actively involved in the firm’s mass tort practice, which has an inventory of over 4,000 cases covering such products as Accutane, Yaz/Yasmin/Ocella, Fosamax, Avandia, Medtronic Infuse, GranuFlo, Mirena, Risperdal, Transvaginal Mesh and defective devices such as shoulder pain pumps and DePuy hip implants. Due to the success of the Phillips Law Firm in pharmaceutical litigation, the firm and Mr. Phillips have consistently been appointed to positions of leadership on various Steering Committees, Science/Discovery Committees and Judicial Council Coordinated Proceedings. He is currently involved in the trial teams for various Bellwether mass tort cases.
Mr. Phillips was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1984. He received his law degree from Seattle University and is an Eagle member of the Washington Associate for Justice, a non-profit organization for public justice.
